Who inspired Marilyn Luongo to achieve her dream for establishing maveric and its aims and ambitions.

He taught her the value of dreaming big and working hard to achieve her goals. It remains for us left behind to complete his work.

His vision is to be replicated in every country in which the Maveric Group does business, anywhere in the world, irrespective of race, religion and politics.

He was Italian born and from Roman decent and they were very proud of the changes they brought to the world and so must we be at the Luongo Foudation.

We must carry the torch of change for the betterment of the world we live in today.

THE MAN AND HIS STORY

Dr Michele Enrico Luongo

Of all the songs written about fathers Josh Groban said it best in you raise me to more than I can be.

My father was born on July 15th, 1898 in another century and another time when the world was different and innocent. When people had dreams and made great things happen. Adventures were out and about discovering the new world.

In 1914 war came to Europe and he joined the Italian army as a cavalry officer after the war he studied at the university of Milan and obtained a Dr degree in civil engineering and in 1927 arrived in Ellis Island just before the fall of the stock exchange.

A young Italian adventurer with an education going to make his fortune in the new world but there was a depression and all he could get was a job shovelling snow off the Manhattan bridge but he didn’t let it get him down and eventually worked his way across to California where he got a job as one of the engineers on the golden gate bridge.

He married and went back to Italy and then the second world war broke out and the Italian army sent him to Eritrea as an engineer and when the British took over he was a prisoner of war and built roads and bridges for the British.

After the war he and a group of Italians decided to go to south Africa as they heard the wine was great and they settled there and he then went up to northern Rhodesia and opened a quarry and got huge contracts from the southern Rhodesia government.

After i was born in Rhodesia he decided war was going to come and moved to south Africa
He had a great love for this continent called Africa and said there was so much untapped potential and he dreamed of making a differance.

He was a great inspiration to me and gave me the ability to see far beyond my years.

Taught me look into the past to learn the mistakes and build on that for the future.

Taught me about fairies, the magick of the universe and dragons.

Believing in the impossible.

Taught me the most important lesson a parent can teach a child and that is to believe in themselves and their ability to reach within and become whatever you want to be.

Maveric and all it stands for is dedicated to the hero of my life and the great gift he bestowed on me.

DREAM BIG and by doing so you honour your Creator and His master plan for your life

In the words of Josh Groban
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary
When troubles come and my heart burdened be
Then I am still and wait here in the silence
Until you come and sit awhile with me

You raise me up so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas
I am strong when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be
